Welcome to Week 4 of the Spring 2019 One Room Challenge. If your new here and want to know more about this Challenge…here’s a little recap.
“The One Room Challenge™, currently in its fifteenth season, is a widely anticipated biannual event every April and October. Each round, twenty design influencers are selected to take the challenge, as Featured Designers, and transform a space. Every Wednesday, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice over six weekly posts. In addition to following along, everyone with a blog or Instagram account, is welcome to join the fun as a Guest Participant by linking their own room transformations up during the six weeks. Each Thursday, the internet and social media are flooded with interior design inspiration, ideas, and encouragement.”
So that’s it in a nutshell.
This week started off with the day the internet died. As in we had no internet service all day. Comcast finally stopped giving a time as to when it would be back up. It was back up in the morning and then down again.
At first I was really frustrated…how did we exist before the internet.
I mean really?
Just kidding. I stomped around for a little bit. Then I just got super productive. I stenciled the whole navy wall and finished the bookcase. Maybe the internet should go down more often.
Turns out you can accomplish a lot when you’re not answering emails and mindlessly scrolling.
Wanna see where we are?
Here’s where we left off with the bookcase.
It is solid wood and they don’t make ‘em like that anymore, so I wanted to re-purpose it.
I used this removable peel and stick wall covering from Target as the backdrop.
It’s called Celestial and runs that line between boho and mid-century that I wanted. It was so much fun (*%#@ said sarcastically) to install by myself. Highly recommend a person to unroll and a person to smooth as you go.
But I really love how it turned out!
Seriously…all the heart eyes.
Now you want to see a sneak peek of the stenciled wall?
The lighting is horrible with no window coverings.
It took a little playing around with this one. I originally tried to roll the paint on but that was no bueno! So back to the old stencil sponge brush. Yay! *sigh *
That’s all you get…gonna have to check in for Week 5 to see more!
Here’s where I am on my To Do List
Window blind is ordered
Got an idea for the closet doors I’m going to try
Still need to decide on light fixture or ceiling fan
A stool to sand and paint
TWO WEEKS LEFT!
Check out Week 1
You’ll love what you see!
